Newborn Portraits
There is no magic on earth quite like those first weeks home with a new baby. You'll find yourself lost in time as you sit admiring that beautiful new baby you grew, whispering to yourself "I made that!'
Newborn sessions are all about the details. Those curled up baby toes, wispy hair, little leg rolls, did I say baby toes?
When are newborn photos taken?
Once your baby is born we ask you to complete a small questionnaire about them and your session coming up, from there we will get back to you with studio session times. All newborn sessions are done within their first 2 weeks earth side (unless the baby requires more time to be deemed healthy and ready for their session). Within first 2 weeks they are still super sleepy and flexible for all those sweet newborn poses. If you can’t get your newborn in within their first few weeks of life don’t panic we will still be able to capture them in other ways better suited to their age.
Are parents and siblings included in the session?
Yes, we have packages that include family photos!! We a beautiful lifestyle space that is perfect for grabbing those sibling shots. We generally start with family photos at the session so siblings can leave straight after if needed.
When is payment due?
We ask for a $100 retainer fee upfront which covers your photographers time and skills, access to our studio, props and huge range of backdrops. The remainder is due within 5 days of your session when choosing your images. We offer payment plans upon booking or Afterpay on checkout.
When should I book?
I suggest booking as soon as you can to avoid disappointment!! We book 4-6 newborn due dates per month and can be booked out up to 6 months in advance. We lock your due date in as a temporary booking and then get you a studio appointment within the first 2 weeks of their life.
What do I bring?
I supply all props needed for the session, all you need to bring is yourselves and relax! If there is something special you would like to bring to incorporate into your session (family heirloom, something sentimental) please let me know prior to your session. There is also a questionnaire you will receive prior to your session that will help me plan according to your color likes and dislikes.
How much does a newborn shoot cost?
That depends solely on how many images images you want! We have smaller packages for those just wanting a few solo shots of baby or larger packages for those wanting them printed in a photobook. Our standard packages start from $400 ranging to $750. We also have a joint maternity + newborn package that is very popular. Enquire now to for more details!
